So, when I wrote Nuka Cola Love Song it was purely as a fan with ZERO expectation of many people hearing it. As a songwriter I always WANT lots of people to hear my song, but I’m always aware that there’s little to no way to make people love a song as much as I do when I first write it.
So, I was very excited when my nephew told me my song was being used on TikTok by the amazing Mrs. Fallout. Over all of her videos on Tik Tok, Youtube, and Instagram, my song has over THREE. MILLION. PLAYS. (This was in the last 5 months).
I’d love to tell you that I am now a rich man…but that didn’t happen.
But I DID get a couple hundred dollars and I definitely took myself out and had a celebratory drink and meal.
I really do love this song. I spent a lot of time making it sound like an old time-y style song. And I think I nailed it! And most of all it was a lot of FUN to make it. Which is really what music should be about. If you’re not enjoying it, why do it?
